Veterans Oasis Park has both winter migrants and year-round residents. Field Trip Guide Lois Hammer says in December we can expect a wide variety of ducks and possibly shorebirds. Anna’s and Costa’s Hummingbirds should show themselves and possibly other varieties. Common Gallinule and Coots are regular residents. Hawks and Osprey have typically arrived by December. If we are lucky we may see a variety of warblers.
Meet at 7:30AM at the ramada near the parking lot (where our monthly Family Bird walks start).
Difficulty: 1 Flat dirt paths. Plan on walking 2-3 miles.
Accommodations: Restrooms, ramadas and park benches. we will conclude between 10:30 -11AM.
Limit: 10 people.
