In-Person Event
Raptor Release and Salt River Restoration

Liberty Wildlife will release a Great Horned Owl at our September 10th Monthly Speaker Series. This is our first in person meeting of the season. Come and see a magnificent raptor take off into the sky at 6:30 p.m. at the Southeast Regional Library, 775 N Greenfield Rd, Gilbert, AZ then come inside to learn about the efforts of the City of Phoenix to restore the Salt River.

About Liberty Wildlife

Liberty Wildlife in Phoenix is a raptor rescue, rehab, education and conservation organization specializing in raptors. When the animals in its care have recovered and are able to succeed in the wild they are released. Witnessing the liberation of one of these birds is a joyful experience. Photography will be allowed. Please share your shots with us! Contact Liz Farquhar at [email protected].

Guest Speaker: Tricia Baluff

At 7 p.m. inside the Shakespeare Room at the library we will hear from Tricia Baluff,  environmental programs manager for the City of Phoenix. Tricia will update us on the restoration of the Salt River bed and what that means for our urban birds and wildlife. She is also coordinating the 4th Annual Urban Wildlife Conservation Day, a celebration of urban wildlife, conservation, and community. Desert Rivers Audubon will have a table there, so mark your calendar.
