Garden Tour de Bird: Save Water and Help Birds with Native Landscaping

Desert Rivers Audubon Society presents its Garden Tour de Bird on November 9. The tour is a self-guided excursion to six Tempe residences and the Hummingbird habitat at Desert Breeze Park in Chandler. See how native plants create an outdoor environment that is appealing to people as well as birds.

In addition, ticket holders will receive a 10 percent discount at Treeland in Mesa on native, low-water plants and other products through November 16. The theme this year is “Inviting the Natives to Your Yard.”

The yards will be open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Purchase in advance:

  • Tickets are $25 plus fees on Eventbrite. Your confirmation email will include a list of the addresses on the tour.
  • Start your tour at any of the residences. Your electronic ticket or the blue gift bag you receive at your first house will admit you to the remaining homes.

You may also purchase admission at the event:

  • Tickets at $30 may be purchased only at the Adams residence, 4007 South Heather Drive, Tempe, beginning at 9:00 a.m. on November 9.
  • You will receive the list of the other residences when you purchase admission. The blue gift bag you received at the Adams residence will admit you to the remaining homes.

Make Treeland Nursery, 2900 S Country Club Dr, Mesa, your last stop so that you can shop for the plants you have seen! Treeland will be offering a selection of natives and low water plants at a 10% discount. Other plants except annuals, vegetables and select items in the shop will also be discounted. The special discount will be available through November 16.

November is prime planting season in Phoenix. Don’t miss this opportunity to start transforming your yard!
