On June 24, our monthly birding and social event focuses on two excellent Gilbert parks: the Riparian Preserve at Water Ranch and the Higley Ponds.
We begin as always at the Riparian Preserve. Meet at 6 a.m. at the west end of the preserve parking lot (east of the library lot: look for its separate entrances) for a stroll through this fabulous birding location. Kellie Elliott, the town naturalist, will accompany us.
At approximately 8:00, the walk winds up at the Dragonfly Ramada (familiar if you have ever attended our Family Bird Walks). We will serve coffee, juice and donuts (donations welcome!) and Kellie will update us on developments at the Riparian Preserve and Higley Ponds. Come with your questions!
This event is on the fourth Tuesday of every month. No registration necessary.
On June 24 our Tuesday morning Birds & Brew Coffee Break group will focus on the ponds managed by the town of Gilbert that provide habitat to so many birds. That includes the renowned Riparian Preserve at Water Ranch and the newer Higley ponds.
Naturalist Kellie Elliott from the Gilbert Parks and Recreation Department will join us for a walk around her “office” – the Riparian Preserve. After the bird walk, we’ll gather at Dragonfly Ramada – the place where Desert Rivers Audubon sets up for our monthly Family Bird Walks. We will have coffee, juice and donuts (donations will be most welcome), and Kellie will update us on developments at the Riparian Preserve and Higley Ponds.
