Description: Most visitors to Antarctica cross the infamous Drake Passage to the Antarctic Peninsula. In this program we’ll explore the “other side” of the Antarctic Continent- the Ross Sea, departing from New Zealand. There’s spectacular icy scenery and of course wildlife and birds (need I say, penguins??) as well as relics from the early explorers to the continent. On the way, we visited the Sub-Antarctic islands rich in bird life and unusual plants.
Bio: Cindy Marple is a Nature Photographer whose favorite subject is birds. Her interest in birds and birding has grown as she spends time observing and learning more about her subjects. She has done photo tours in many regions of the world in pursuit of birds, wildlife and other nature subjects.
