Our bird walk at Gilbert Riparian Preserve begins at 7 am followed by an optional coffee break at Empower Coffee Roasters.
We meet at the entrance to the preserve near the parking lot, then a leader guides the group around the ponds where more than 200 bird species have been seen over the years.
About an hour and a half later we travel to Empower Coffee Roasters, located at 1337 S Gilbert Rd., Mesa for coffee, conversation and a short presentation. This month the discussion will be about the interesting Acorn Woodpecker, presented by Margaret Dyekman, Desert Rivers Board President.
