Jeff Myers is a wildlife biologist for the Arizona Game & Fish Department, managing the Watchable Wildlife Program. He has spent his entire adult life studying wildlife, with a focus on mammalian carnivores, and enjoys the opportunity to educate others about all of the fascinating wildlife species we have here in Arizona. Jeff will give a presentation on Peregrine Falcons: A Natural History and Modern Look at this Speedy Predator.

Peregrines make cheetahs look slow. They are not only the fastest vertebrate on the planet; they are incredible predators in their own right. Listed as an endangered species just a few decades ago, peregrines have made an incredible recovery and were removed from the endangered species list. Learn about these amazing falcons and why Arizona was one of the first states to support robust populations.

From September through April, the Monthly Speaker Series hosts live presentations by experts at the Southeast Regional Library in Gilbert, which are also presented live on Zoom. Come in person for socializing and refreshments before an informative talk. The doors open at 6pm with the speaker beginning at 7pm.
