Tim Hauck, program director for The Peregrine Fund’s Condor Recovery Program in northern Arizona and southern Utah, will update us on the state of California Condor in the desert southwest at our November 11 monthly speaker meeting.
In September five condors were released from the Peregrine Fund’s facility near the Vermillion Cliffs National Monument to the delight of enthusiasts watching from the valley floor and others watching the live-stream. The newly freed birds, hatched and raised at the Oregon Zoo and the San Diego Zoo Safari Park, joined the Arizona-Utah flock.

From September through April, the Monthly Speaker Series hosts live presentations by experts at the Southeast Regional Library in Gilbert, which are also presented live on Zoom. Come in person for socializing and refreshments before an informative talk. The doors open at 6pm with the speaker beginning at 7pm.
