Join us for this urban wetlands bird walk!

Wide, flat trails parallel the groundwater recharge ponds for easy viewing and comfortable walking. These shallow ponds are frequented by a large number of waterfowl in the fall, winter and spring seasons. Hawks, hummingbirds, roadrunners, flycatchers, Abert’s Towhee and Curved-Billed Thrashers are common year-round.

The street address for the parking lot is 5250 S. Higley Rd, Gilbert, AZ 85298. It is 1/2 mile north of the intersection of Higley Rd and Ocotillo Rd. When coming from the north on Higley Rd. there is no left hand turn into the parking lot. Drive to Ocotillo Rd. and make a U-turn. Continue north on Higley Rd about 1/2 mile. Make a right-hand turn int the parking lot. You will find the group gathering there. There is a port-a-potty in the parking area if needed.
