Join us for our very first Birds & Beans, Social Bird Walk! We’ll begin the morning exploring Veterans Oasis Park, a birding hotspot in Chandler that hosts wintering waterfowl and common desert birds such as the Greater Roadrunner and Cactus Wren. Birds that we may see include Yellow-Headed Blackbird, Cinnamon Teal, and Costa’s Hummingbird.
This walk is perfect for beginners and those wanting to meet like-minded nature lovers. The bird walk will last 1-1.5 hours and be followed by an optional outing to a local coffee shop for those wanting to continue socializing.
We’ll meet at the ramada closest to the nature center and leave from there. Trails are paved, rocky, and hilly, so please wear appropriate footwear. Restrooms are available at the Chandler Nature Center and at various locations throughout the park.
