This trip will take us on a great birding route west of Phoenix, through rural areas and agricultural fields with a few scattered ponds. It is reliable for Burrowing Owls, Northern Harriers and other diurnal raptors, waterfowl including possible White Pelicans, sparrows, and common desert species. If we’re lucky, some Sandhill Cranes! We will start at 6:30am in Tempe and wrap up back in Tempe about 2:30pm. We will be watching for birds from our vehicles and stopping occasionally to stand or walk short distances. Restrooms will be available at the beginning of the trip and at lunch.
Leader, Kathe Anderson combines fun and education in her field trips.
